Firstly i must say this item IS cool to look at, however thats about it, you slide your DS inside it and plug in your charger as normal when you charge it, there is a red led light on the front, however IGNORE that as it does nothing, unlike i thought it might light up when charging, it does nothing. This leads to the fact that because you have it enclosed while inside the spaceship thing you cant tell if it is charging or finished. So to be honest a great item for the unit or a kids room, but as a charger it is pointless. Great and desirable for toy story fans.
