So why only the 3 stars? Because frankly, as gun game goes this is stunningly average. The graphics are adequate but never excel and given the nature of the subject material there is a surprising lack of imagination in the enemies you face. The sound is quite frankly appalling and I prefer to play without it. The music is empty and annoying while the sound effects don't seem connected to the characters making them. Most importantly, the gameplay is nothing new. Your path is set, as with the old virtua cop games and no ability to duck behind cover is provided meaning you must shoot as quickly as possible at all times. There are no time limits and so little sense of urgency. The game is not a challenge to complete if you want to. As with all gun games, if you want a challenge, stick the difficulty to hard and limit the credits to 1. I won't complain that the game is short, it is the standard 30mins or thereabouts to plough through and personally, I think any longer would make my arms hurt too much. The point of these games is to get as high a score as possible so you can show off to your mates. A number of sub-games are available, similar to those with Time-Crisis 2 and similarly, they don't really add much to the package.Should you buy this? It really depends how much you like this genre and how often you like getting your gun out. The game is acceptably playable in my opinion but is not as good as either vampire night or timecrisis 2. If you have played Vampire Night and don't like it, don't buy this. If you have played the arcade version and want to play it at home do. It is slightly slower than the arcade version but otherwise seems the same.
