Adventure unfolds in Celceta
World-famous red-haired adventurer Adol Christin awakens in the unfamiliar land of Celceta with memory only of his name. He wanders into a town, where a thief named Duren claims to have stood by him in recent weeks. After helping rescue miners trapped by a collapse, Adol earns the respect of a Romun Army general. Impressed by their skill, the general tasks the duo with exploring the Great Forest of Celceta and mapping its vast expanse—an arduous mission many have attempted, yet none have returned from alive.
Eager to uncover his past and the reason for his predicament, Adol follows Duren into the untamed wilds to chart the forest. Along the way he encounters a cast of characters who seem to know him, and he must carefully decide whom to trust as danger and mystery lurk around every bend.
A sprawling world with a meticulous map
This PC edition presents one of the largest and most varied overworlds in Ys history. The experience is driven by a robust mapping system with customizable waypoints and clear, detailed icons that guide Adol and his companions through forests, canyons, ruins, and frontier towns. Exploration is tightly coupled with combat, discovery, and narrative threads that reward curiosity.
A cornerstone of Ys lore
Ys: Memories of Celceta delivers a deeply influential segment of the series’ lore in a self-contained campaign. The story stands on its own while offering depth for longtime fans, weaving themes of identity, trust, and the consequences of venturing into an uncharted land.
Combat and party dynamics
Employing a distinctive take on the series’ action RPG combat, Memories of Celceta emphasizes fast, strategic clashes and a growing party roster you assemble from your travels. The battles emphasize movement, timing, and coordination with allies as you tackle varied foes and challenging bosses in open environments.
PC enhancements and features
The remastered PC version improves visuals and performance with wide HD resolutions, fixed framerates up to 120 fps and an option to unlock, fully customizable control bindings, and integrated mouse support. These refinements ensure smooth, responsive play and a more immersive adventure through Celceta’s landscapes.
Modes, competition, and replay
Beyond the main campaign, Time Attack and Boss Rush modes test speed, skill, and endurance. Steam leaderboards let players compare Celcetan boss-slays and runs with others around the world, adding competitive re-play value to the adventure.
Definitive version of a pivotal entry
Originally revisiting Ys IV on PlayStation Vita, Memories of Celceta returns on PC as the definitive edition, bringing updates and enhancements that heighten exploration, storytelling, and combat. Adol’s journey through Celceta invites players to uncover forgotten memories and redefine his fate in a land that reshapes the Ys universe.
