Train Simulator: Norfolk Southern GP38-2 High Hood Loco Add-On description
The Norfolk Southern GP38-2 High Hood Loco Add-On for Train Simulator introduces the versatile GP38-2 road switcher, a successor to the original GP38. Produced by General Motors between 1972 and 1986, over 2,000 units of the GP38-2 were built, primarily for service on US railroads, with some models exported to countries like Canada and Mexico.
With a power output of 2,000 horsepower generated by a robust 16-cylinder engine, the GP38-2 is classified as a road switcher, making it capable of handling light freight with ease. This add-on specifically features the high hood variant, recognized for its distinctive look, and comes in the iconic Norfolk Southern black and thoroughbred liveries.
Included with the add-on are not only the GP38-2 locomotive but also accompanying low gondola freight cars, NS box cars, and flat cars. The locomotive is Quick Drive compatible, providing players the flexibility to operate it on any Quick Drive enabled route available on Steam.
Additionally, players can engage in four scenarios tailored for the Norfolk Southern Coal District route, making for an immersive gameplay experience. With more scenarios accessible via Steam Workshop, the replayability of this add-on is substantially enhanced. The total download size for this exciting addition is 177MB.
