The BR Class 35 diesel-hydraulic locomotive is now available for Train Simulator, presented in the iconic BR green livery. Known affectionately as 'Hymeks', these locomotives were the most powerful diesel-hydraulic models operating on a single engine during their time of production. Between 1961 and 1964, a total of 101 Class 35 units were built by Beyer Peacock, becoming a familiar sight on semi-fast and freight services across the Western Region of the British rail network during the 1960s.
While their operational life was short due to withdrawals starting in 1971, four units remain preserved today. This add-on features an updated model, including improved exterior details and new scenarios. Additionally, it includes BR Mk1 passenger coaches in chocolate and cream livery, enhancing gameplay experience.
The Class 35 is also Quick Drive compatible, allowing players to operate it on any Quick Drive-enabled route available on Steam. Included are four scenarios tailored for the Riviera Line: Exeter-Paignton route, such as 'Training: Class 35 Simple Controls' and 'Stormy Day on the Riviera'. With a download size of 164MB, this add-on promises hours of exciting gameplay.
