SHOGUN: Total War™ - Collection offers an immersive experience set in 1542 Japan, a nation steeped in chaos. The last shogunate has crumbled, leaving the land fragmented under the control of various daimyos, feudal warlords vying for supremacy. As power struggles unfold, the emperor remains a mere puppet, manipulated by the factions that control Kyoto. This tumultuous era also witnesses the arrival of European explorers, bringing with them guns, religion, and disease, complicating the already volatile landscape.
The collection includes SHOGUN: Total War™ and its expansion, Mongol Invasion. In the base game, players engage in a unique blend of turn-based grand strategy and real-time battles, mastering politics, economics, and military tactics to rise as the ultimate Shogun. The Mongol Invasion expansion allows players to explore a pivotal “what-if” scenario where Kublai Khan’s Mongol Horde attempts to conquer Japan. Players can choose to lead the Mongol forces or defend against them as the ruling Hojo clan.
