Receiver is an innovative first-person shooter, originally developed for the 7-day FPS challenge. The game focuses on authentic gun handling mechanics, immersive environments, and non-linear storytelling. Players find themselves armed with only a handgun and an audio cassette player, tasked with unraveling the mysteries of the Mindkill in a complex filled with dangerous automated turrets and shock drones.

The game features detailed simulations of various firearms, including the Colt 1911 pistol, S&W Model 10 "Victory" revolver, and the Glock 17 with a full-auto modification. Each weapon is intricately designed to provide a realistic shooting experience, emphasizing the importance of understanding how guns operate.

Players must navigate dangerous environments while facing challenges like Taser robots and machine gun turrets equipped with physically-based damage models. The game also utilizes advanced ballistic modeling for things like ricochets and bullet drop, enhancing realism. With 11 audio tapes scattered throughout the game, players can gather crucial knowledge to prepare themselves for the impending threats posed by the Mindkill event.
