This DLC introduces players to Amtrak's SW1000R diesel switcher and the distinctive ex-Metroliner Cab Control Car. Amtrak utilizes yard switchers at key terminal locations, including New York's Sunnyside Yard, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Los Angeles, and the SW1000R is a prime example of this effort.
Originally built in the 1950s, the SW1000R has been reconstructed and serves as a nimble 1,000-horsepower, four-axle diesel, perfectly suited for yard and shop switching duties. Players will have the unique opportunity to operate this veteran locomotive in the iconic Sunnyside yard complex.
