This exciting expansion propels players back to 681 BC, immersing them in the final days of chariot warfare in the ancient Near East. The narrative unfolds with the decline of the Neo-Assyrian Empire, detailing the ascendancy of the Median and Babylonian Empires, ultimately leading to their conquest by the Achaemenid Persians, who established an enormous empire stretching from the Bosporus to western India.
Players will command 12 new factions, including the Assyrians, Babylonians, Medes, and Egyptians, featuring a total of 32 new units that enhance tactical gameplay. The expansion adds 21 new army lists, six Epic Battles, and 35 Quick Battles, all playable from either side. Historical campaigns, such as “Ashurbanipal” and “Fall of Assyria,” offer diverse scenarios to master.
With an expanded Custom Battles module, players can explore all 191 army lists from previous expansions. The inclusion of mixed units allows for strategic combinations of spearmen and archers, providing a rich tactical experience.
