Spell Swap

Spell Swap is a fast-paced 2D platformer where dueling wizards fight with a single spell that they swap every time they strike. Use your current spell to defeat opponents, or steal their spell to turn the tables. Be careful: if your attack fails to finish them off, they’ll exact revenge with your previous spell, pushing you into a constant cycle of clever swapping and quick adaptation.

Features a fully local multiplayer mode for friends and family, and online play via Steam Remote Play Together. There is no solo mode. You can battle with up to 4 players using controllers, and many more when pairing a keyboard with additional peripherals. With the right setup, you can even push 8+ players into chaotic showdowns.

Choose from 24 distinct spells, from precise magical arrows to devastating fireballs, meteor storms, and even a nuclear bomb. Before each tournament, you decide which spells will be allowed. Keep it tight with 2-3 spells for tight, skillful duels, or unleash total chaos by enabling the entire spell pool.

Spell Swap emphasizes customization. Create your own Tournament by tweaking modes, objectives, and team participation. Add a variety of modifiers to spice up the fights: shorter cooldowns for faster swaps, a bouncy world that disrupts footing, alternative art styles, or a raging thunderstorm to increase the stakes. These options let you tailor matches to your group’s preferred pace and chaos level.
