Darkanoid is a modern, hard-hitting update of the classic block-breaker formula. Easy to learn, brutal to master, it delivers a fast-paced arcade experience set in a void-filled cosmos. Players choose between two distinct modes and push through a gauntlet of levels, bosses, and ever-changing challenges.

Game Modes

• Classic mode — a painful trial in the best tradition of the genre. It features 40 levels and 4 Bosses. Players can select from three difficulty levels—Noob, Padawan, and Master—to tailor the challenge.
• Survival mode — break through an endless sequence of waves as blocks, drones, and bosses close in. You start with one life and can earn extra lives by defeating a Boss. The mode uses an adaptive wave system to keep the pressure constant and escalating.

Tools, Power-ups and Hazards

Your primary tools are a firegun and a shield. Along the way you’ll encounter 11 different power-ups—some easing the task, others adding new twists, and at least one that can be dangerous to you if mishandled. Teleports and Flying Blocks spice up the action, raising the stakes on every run. Bonus levels introduce a double-platform twist on a wormhole path, where you must locate a chip key and defeat a guarding boss to advance.

Progression, Customization and Resources

Cosmic Aid offers a second chance for your platform when things go against you, while a Store lets you customize your platform with upgrades learned through play. Progress hinges on gathering a special resource called Darkens, found inside the hardest blocks and on BONUS levels, to unlock cosmetic and combat upgrades. There are 13 skins, each with its own upgrade path, and you’ll unlock a default firegun plus three larger weapons to expand your arsenal. The game also tracks Steam achievements for completing challenges and conquering modes.

Extra Details

The Darkanoid universe features additional challenge elements such as Drones and Wormholes that influence level design, and BONUS levels that reward careful play with extra rewards.
