The game features a plethora of scenarios, depicting pivotal moments in the North African theater of World War II, spanning from 1940 through late 1942. Participants can engage in small scenarios that recreate significant clashes like the battles of Crusader and Battleaxe, as well as larger campaigns focusing on Italy's earlier attempts at invasion and Rommel's operations upon his arrival in 1941.

Each scenario varies in duration, ranging from 4 turns to over 42, with each turn representing a two-week timeline. Players control either the Axis forces, comprising German and Italian units, or the diverse Allied troops, including British and Commonwealth forces. Logistics play a critical role, with supply lines being vital for operational success. Replayability is enhanced through various event cards affecting military, political, and economic outcomes.
