Blocks!: Julius Caesar is an engaging local and online two-player wargame that immerses players in the intense drama of the Roman Civil War, which spanned from 49 to 45 BC. Players take on the roles of legions commanded by either Julius Caesar or Pompey, battling to shape the fate of Rome between the Republic and the Empire. Historical figures such as Marc Antony, Cleopatra, Octavian, Scipio, and Brutus significantly influence the strategies and gameplay.

The game features a detailed map board representing key theaters during the Civil War, stretching from Spain to the Middle East and encompassing the Mediterranean Sea. Players compete to capture cities worth Victory Points (VPs), with major cities like Rome and Alexandria yielding 2 VPs each and smaller cities providing 1 VP. Additionally, players earn 1 VP for eliminating each opposing leader. The objective is to be the first to reach 10 VPs and claim the title of sole Master of Rome.
