Contraptions
Contraptions is a physics‑based puzzle game with a playful, cartoonish vibe. As a spiritual successor to MechanicMaster on the Nintendo DS, it challenges you to fix whacky machines that perform simple tasks in indirect, convoluted ways—Rube Goldberg style.
Use an outrageous toolkit of gadgets to solve each level. From camels acting as trampolines to champagne bottles serving as cannons, balloons lifting objects, fireworks wheels driving conveyor belts, and magnets tugging metal parts, creative thinking is rewarded. The game lets you build and test wildly inventive contraptions to complete your objectives.
Key Features
- Solve over 100 wacky puzzles across 5 distinct worlds.
- Create unlimited, shareable levels and challenge a friend to beat them.
- Experiment with a wide array of goofy gadgets—scissors, washing-line pegs, and more.
- Complete levels in multiple ways to express your creativity and mastery.
How to Play
Each level presents a number of objects and monsters. Your goal is to clear all monsters using a chain reaction built from the objects you arrange.
At the start, the contraption is broken: objects may be out of place. You fix it by repositioning, flipping, or connecting parts. When you’re ready, you press Play to unfreeze time and let gravity act. The gadgets spring to life in a cascading sequence intended to wipe out every monster.
If your setup doesn’t work, pause and tweak the layout. The challenge lies in discovering how different components must be linked and activated to produce the intended chain reaction.
Gadgets and Connections
Some devices ignite; others respond to touch, push, or pull. Many gadgets require being connected to function—for example, a conveyor belt turns only when linked to an active engine via a belt, or a laser fires when its trigger is tied to a moving object by a rope.
Objectives
There are dozens of valid solutions per level. You can push a monster off the edge, sever a rope to drop a heavy object, pull a rope connected to a laser, or ignite a rocket engine to trigger a chain of reactions. As you progress, puzzles grow more intricate, inviting even more creative and unexpected approaches.
