Oriental Empires: Three Kingdoms description

Oriental Empires: Three Kingdoms

The Three Kingdoms period stands out as one of the most chaotic yet fascinating epochs in Chinese history, famously brought to life in the classic novel “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.” As the ancient Han Dynasty crumbles, the empire is plunged into disarray with rampant banditry and rebellion. Amidst this turmoil, the young emperor loses power to a cruel tyrant, creating a vacuum that brave individuals can fill.

In Oriental Empires: Three Kingdoms, players assume the role of a warlord striving to reunite the fractured land and establish a new dynasty. Choose from 26 different factions on a sprawling campaign map that spans from Vietnam to northern China. You can align with notable figures like the tyrant Dong Zhuo or emerge as a major or minor warlord, or even take advantage of the chaos as a barbarian or bandit.

The game features stunning portraits and models of over a dozen significant historical figures, alongside more than 300 named characters drawn from history and the novel. Engaging scripted events introduce new personalities and highlight pivotal moments, complemented by new unit models that represent the soldiers of the era, including the Nanman and Qiang barbarians.
