Experience one of the most powerful passenger steam locomotives ever built for the British railway network with the Coronation Class 'Duchess of Sutherland'. This iconic locomotive arrives in Train Simulator in its beautifully preserved BR Brunswick Green livery. Designed by Stanier, the 'Big Lizzies' represent an enlarged version of the Princess Royal Class with a powerful output of approximately 3,300 horsepower and a weight of 105 tons.
Originally operating express steam services from the mid-1930s until the mid-1960s, the Duchess of Sutherland boasts a rich history, having traveled 1.6 million miles during her service. After her withdrawal in 1964, she was preserved and is now frequently seen on rail tours across the country.
The add-on features a meticulously updated model complete with AWS for mainline running, steam chest pressure gauge, live steam injector steam valve, and realistic operating doors. Included are BR Mk1 coaches in maroon livery and four scenarios tailored specifically for the Settle-Carlisle route.
