The Church in the Darkness ™ description

The Church in the Darkness ™

An immersive action/stealth game set in the 1970s, The Church in the Darkness invites players to infiltrate a cult led by the charismatic Isaac and Rebecca Walker. With a radical agenda and self-proclaimed persecution by the US government, the Walkers have moved their followers to a remote jungle in South America, establishing a community called Freedom Town. As Vic, an ex-law enforcement officer, your mission is to locate your nephew Alex and ensure his safety within this enigmatic commune.

The game features a dynamic and evolving storyline, where each playthrough offers unique challenges and consequences. Players can choose their approach—be it stealthy evasion, non-lethal tactics, or outright violence—as they navigate through Freedom Town, interviewing its inhabitants and deciphering the true nature of the environment. Players will encounter various clues in the form of letters and documents, providing insight into the cult’s operations and motivations.

With a fully voiced performance from industry talents, including Ellen McLain and John Patrick Lowrie, the game is crafted by Richard Rouse III, with contributions from legendary game writers. The choices you make will ultimately determine your ending—will you rescue Alex, confront the cult leaders, or even join them? Explore the depths of humanity and make choices that echo far beyond the jungle.
