Embark on a journey through the romance of rail with the feature-packed Duchess set for Trainz Simulator. Designed by Sir William A. Stanier FRS, the Duchess locomotives embody the pinnacle of British engineering, emerging during the famed rivalry between LMS’ “Coronation Scot” and LNER’s “Flying Scotsman.” With over 3000hp, these powerful machines were the perfect competitors against Gresley’s A4.
Initially featuring a unique streamlined design, the first ten locos were soon transitioned into their more iconic unstreamlined forms, lovingly known as “Duchesses.” This DLC includes 36 meticulously modeled locomotives, available in both LMS crimson and BR green liveries, showcasing their handsome lines and distinctive smoke deflectors added in 1945 for improved visibility.
Complementing the locomotives is a collection of authentically detailed LMS Period III Stanier coaches, offering a realistic experience with rideable passenger interiors. The Duchess pack also features scripted couplers, steam heat, brake hoses, and carriage lights, ensuring an immersive and satisfying addition to your Trainz collection.
