Dark Moon is a survival strategy game where time presses you from all sides. When the Moon’s electronics fail, you must traverse the lunar surface to reach Earth, all while balancing resources, crew needs, and the ever-present danger of the Sun. The light is your enemy and the darkness your only salvation.

You are part of the Engineering Council, overseeing a newly developed mining system aboard the Mechaplex. A devastating solar storm destroys communications, and the main relay is lost to the glare. Alone on a barren world, you must keep moving, plan every route, and gamble with the unknown to stay alive long enough to contact Earth.

Core to the experience is constant forward momentum. The Sun scorches anything it touches, so you must stay ahead—never linger in its radiance. The Mechaplex is your mobile base and your lifeboat: build new facilities on top of it, research technologies, and upgrade your crew’s abilities. It also serves as your getaway vehicle, so every decision matters for escape.

The world is non-linear and procedurally varied. Each playthrough offers new locations and events, demanding fresh tactics. Use drones to scan terrain and spot hazards before you approach. Minerals mined on the lunar plains have distinct properties that can increase your odds of survival when crafted into tools, upgrades, or transport improvements.

The path to Earth is not walked alone. Other survivors may join your convoy, bringing new buildings, pilots, and capabilities, but they must be fed and sheltered. The choices you make shape crew dynamics: some members resist joining with rivals, while others may betray you. Throwing out a popular ally can spark revolts with dangerous consequences.

Expect risk, tension, and consequence in every decision. Develop prototypes to boost mineral gathering or accelerate convoy movement, and adapt to shifting loyalties as you navigate alliances and rivalries. Your ultimate goal is to endure the solar onslaught long enough to re-establish contact with Earth—before the darkness consumes you entirely.
