Urban Strife is a turn-based tactical survival RPG that blends old-school strategy, shelter management, and a grounded, choice-driven storyline. Built on Unreal Engine, it delivers real ballistic simulation, day and night cycles, dynamic fire spread, and advanced sound and smoke behavior. NPCs have their own needs, morale, hunger, and sickness, making every decision count in a world where you are not chosen—you survive because others pull you back from the edge.

Story and setting place you as a mysterious patient evacuated by the CDC from a collapsing Atlanta lab just before the city falls. Rescued by the people of Urban Town, a fragile southern settlement, you inherit a ruined shelter, scarce supplies, and rising tension. Your task is to rebuild the shelter, organize its people, and give them a reason to endure. As stability returns, you venture into the city to negotiate alliances or confront hostile factions. A massive zombie horde is inbound; Atlanta has already fallen. Urban is next. Every choice you make leaves a lasting mark on the town and its people.

Real ballistic simulation drives every firefight. Weapons behave with projectile travel, penetration, and impact; cover, sound, and visibility shape encounters, and poor positioning or wasted shots are punished. The arsenal spans pistols, shotguns, SMGs, assault rifles, hunting rifles, and sniper rifles, each with its own tactical role. Pistols offer low action-point cost and steady damage; shotguns crush at close range; rifles excel at distance but demand scarce ammunition.

Body parts targeting adds strategic depth. A detailed Chance-To-Hit calculator estimates odds and potential damage while considering bullet attenuation. Perks, weapon attachments, and skills can boost the odds. Assault rifles provide heavy sustained damage and possible multi-target penetration; sniper and hunting rifles reward careful aim with instant kills or crippling injuries. Targeting limbs can slow enemies, disable attacks, or create openings. Headshots are lethal but risky, demanding precise positioning, timing, and resource management.

Melee and improvisation fill gaps where firearms aren’t viable. Almost anything that can be wielded becomes a brutal melee option—from improvised tools to customized bats. Melee offers multiple modes and tactical choices, especially when ammo runs low or stealth is required.

Factions and RPG depth enrich the world. NPCs follow routines, form relationships, and pursue personal goals. Three major factions vie for control: Army rebels, a zombie-worshipping cult, and a ruthless biker gang. You may ally with one to gain shelter upgrades and trade advantages, while others become enemies. No alliance is clean, and every path carries a cost—survival hinges on hard choices.

Survival mechanics center on the Urban Shelter. Damaged, overcrowded, and near collapse, it must be repaired, expanded, and staffed. Refugees require food, medical care, morale, and power. Residents can be trained as specialists and assigned as labor. Alliances unlock unique shelter upgrades and long-term benefits. Once workshops are established, you can produce your own survival industry—ammo, explosive bullets, tactical kits, and magazines that sustain extended engagements.

Strategic, old-school combat with a twist: an AP-based system inspired by classic tactics, interrupts, and skill-based reactions. To avoid interminable waits against large numbers, hordes act in a dedicated simultaneous phase—undead move together while still making individual decisions, keeping battles tense and readable even under pressure.

Early Access roadmap outlines ongoing content and feature additions, reflecting the evolving plan and development stages as you push Urban Strife forward.
