Space Force

Space Force is a retro 3D side-scrolling, single-player local arcade shooter that delivers classic arcade intensity with a modern twist. Navigate tight corridors of space battles, survive through endless danger, and feel the rush of fast-paced combat as you carve your path through waves of enemies. The game captures the vibe of coin-operated cabinets while delivering a streamlined gameplay loop designed for quick pickups and high-score challenges.

Over 1000 waves stand between you and domination, offering a demanding test of reflexes, precision, and strategic movement. Climb the leaderboards to prove you’re the best pilot in space, and exploit a unique arsenal that lets you tear through enemies with style. Each run presents new patterns and threats, inviting you to master the timing, spacing, and loadout choices that keep you alive longer and push your score higher.

The game emphasizes approachable controls and immediate action. Move with W, A, S, D or the arrow keys, and fire with the Space bar or the left mouse button. Space Force is designed as a local, single-player experience, ideal for arcade-style sessions on a home setup and for sharpening skills without online requirements.

Inspired by timeless classics such as Metal Slug, Galaga, and Hawking Raptor Call of the Shadow, Space Force blends nostalgic visuals with tight, modern shooting action. The result is a distinctive feel that evokes retro cabinets while delivering a brisk, action-packed challenge that remains accessible to new players and rewarding for veterans alike.

At this stage, controller support is not yet available, though plans exist to add it in future updates for an even more authentic arcade experience. The project is a collaboration by three students at Full Sail University, conceived to honor the spirit of arcade gaming while delivering a focused, pick-up-and-play shooter for today’s players.
