Steel Division 2 - Tribute to the Liberation of Italy description
Steel Division 2: Tribute to the Liberation of Italy
Steel Division 2: Tribute to the Liberation of Italy is a comprehensive expansion that delves into a significant yet often overlooked aspect of World War II—the Italian campaign. Set in the summer of 1944, players will experience intense combat north of Rome, where the Allies' progress is met by resilient Axis forces along the formidable Gothic Line. With key Allied divisions redirected to France, both sides prepare for pivotal operations, leading to a strategic lull in the fighting.
This expansion enriches the game with eight meticulously researched new divisions and introduces four new nations: South Africa, Brazil, and the competing Repubblica Sociale Italiana and Kingdom of Italy. Players can command a multinational force, including the 6th South African Armoured Division and the Italian Corpo Italiano di Liberazione.
Alongside 300+ new units, including 22 new vehicle models and 4 aircraft types, players can utilize diverse equipment from both the Axis and Allied forces, featuring unique Italian vehicles like the P-26/40 tank and German artillery such as the FAMO 88mm. With an array of new infantry models, representing various nationalities, the battlefield is richer than ever, allowing for an immersive historical experience.
