Dungeons of Aether is an engaging turn-based dungeon crawler developed by Nikita ‘ampersandbear’ Belorusov from Aether Studios. Unlike its fast-paced predecessor, Rivals of Aether, this game allows players to enjoy strategic gameplay at their own pace while still presenting formidable challenges. Every decision could either propel you deeper into the dungeons or lead to an untimely end.
The game features a unique dice draft combat system, ensuring that each battle is distinct and requires players to adapt to a rotating pool of dice each turn. Players can leverage fortune to overcome foes, gather treasures, and manipulate the odds to their advantage.
You will encounter four unique heroes, each with distinct abilities: Fleet, the clumsy protector; Hamir, the resilient former Wall Runner; Slade, the resourceful pirate; and Artemis, the regenerative general on a secret mission. The game invites players to explore the steam-punk town of Julesvale and the treacherous dungeons beneath it.
In Story Mode, players embark on a roguelite adventure, interacting with townsfolk, upgrading gear, and tackling various biomes including the Julesvale Mines and Lava Caves. For a true challenge, players can test their skills in randomly generated Challenge Dungeons featuring leaderboards, ensuring that every run is both rewarding and exhilarating!
