Thriving City: Song is a城市-building simulation set in ancient China, blending rich historical storytelling with strategic management. Step into the role of mayor and lead a small settlement into a thriving Song dynasty metropolis, shaped by history, culture, and your decisions.

Experience two distinct modes designed to immerse you in the era. In Story Mode you relive the rise and fall of the empire, encountering real historical events and emperor edicts that guide the course of your city. Time matters as you complete tasks, respond to crises, and steer development through major dynastic moments. In Adventure Mode you have creative freedom to design your own bustling cityscape, experimenting with layout and production without tying your progress to historical milestones.

Everything in Thriving City: Song is interconnected. Plan and balance agriculture, industry, commerce, education, civil affairs, and politics to create a harmonious, productive urban core. Assign jobs, gather resources, and construct a network of production and living facilities. Build related structures together to boost efficiency and ensure the basic needs of your populace are met—food, medicine, housing, and security—so happiness rises and development accelerates.

The city thrives under cultural and civic life. Hold perfume contests, host poetry and music events, chant scriptures, and offer diversified diets to enrich your people’s daily living. Entertainment facilities such as Spice Shops, Inns, Taverns, and Brothels attract residents and visitors, fueling growth and reputation. Academic research, student education, and success in the Imperial Exam provide income and elevate your city’s standing, unlocking new opportunities and prestige.

Reality and danger walk hand in hand. As your population grows (over 2,000 citizens can appear on screen at once), you must prepare for disasters, plagues, and invasions. Build City Walls, Archer Towers, and train Militias and Archers to defend your streets. When crime or unrest emerges, establish a Prison and enforce law with careful governance. City accounts demand prudent year-by-year planning, and policies—when chosen and combined wisely—can improve efficiency or unintentionally constrain the people. Your choices determine whether peace endures or history tilts in a new direction.
