CrossOver: Roll For Initiative is a chaotic hybrid that fuses action, strategy, RPG and puzzle elements into a mind-bending, tabletop-inspired adventure. CrossOver blends match‑3 and tower defense foundations with dynamic action, RPG progression, and puzzle solving to deliver a distinctive challenge that defies easy categorization.
What You Do
- Explore over 100 levels spanning fantasy and sci‑fi worlds.
- Shop for armor, gear, and items; gain XP, level up, and boost your stats.
- Find dozens of spells and weapons; hire mercenaries to fortify your crew.
- Engage in random encounters with Fighting Fantasy‑style choices that shape your path.
- Persistent gems unlock 15 classes and 15 races per setting, or trade them for extra gold.
Campaigns, Modes and Content
Fantasy and Sci‑Fi modules deliver seven solo campaign books per module, each with multiple stages. Local co‑op is supported with gamepad controls for the dice, and Steam Remote Play Together enables remote friends to join. A dedicated Online Lobby Co‑op mode offers premade characters for streamlined play, plus two players sharing control of the dice. Seven Scenarios per module and two Endless Modes provide variety and replayability.
Endless modes are procedurally generated for Solo and Online Co‑op, keeping challenges fresh. A special Dice Defense mode pits autobattling dice towers against endless waves (solo only). An online leaderboard tracks your best runs across modules.
Accessibility and Challenge
Unlock an art gallery and a hidden minigame as you progress. If the pace becomes overwhelming, toggle the Casual Play difficulty: reduce enemy damage, or set to 0 to disable damage and deterrents, allowing relaxed play. These options apply to Solo and Local Co‑op campaigns and can be changed mid‑campaign without a restart.
