SGS Operation Downfall description

SGS Operation Downfall

SGS Operation Downfall invites players to explore an alternate history of World War II, focusing on the Allied invasion of Japan, initially planned for late 1945. The game intricately depicts the two pivotal components of this operation: Operation Olympic, targeting Kyūshū, and Operation Coronet, aimed at the Kantō Plain near Tokyo.

Set amidst the backdrop of significant military strategy and fierce resistance, players will engage at the division level for ground units and wings for air units, experiencing the largest amphibious operation in history. With challenges of geography and a well-prepared Japanese defense, the game requires players to consider both combat strategies and geopolitical dynamics, including the role of the Emperor and potential Soviet intervention.

Each turn represents one week, with scenarios ranging from 10 to 27 turns. Players can choose various starting options to enhance replayability. The game highlights the tough fight against Japan's strong fixed defenses, while the Allies must manage tight timelines and logistical constraints amid chaotic weather conditions. Will you reshape history in SGS Operation Downfall? Estimated playtime exceeds 20 hours.
