Capes — Turn-Based Superhero Strategy

Twenty years after the supervillains won, Capes places you in a dystopian city where developing powers is illegal and the streets are ruled by a ruthless regime. You assemble a squad of capable heroes and fight to reclaim the city block by block. This is a strategic, turn-based experience—no luck-based dice, no invulnerability from raw power. Your planning, positioning, and teamwork determine the tide of battle as you push back against a growing cadre of villains and their enforcers.

As you progress, you choose your path: drive the main story forward or pause to explore side missions that reveal more about your heroes, unlock additional teammates, earn Skill Points, and complete challenges that deepen the world and your squad’s origins.

Core gameplay: Command up to four heroes per mission. Each hero brings a distinct playstyle, with a personal Ultimate that turns the tide when mastered. Mastery comes from learning combos, timing, and how to align abilities with allies. The system emphasizes strategic planning over randomness, rewarding careful setup, resource management, and decisive execution.

Heroes and progression: Recruit a diverse roster whose powers feel unique and flavorful. As you level, unlock new abilities and powerful upgrades. Skill Points, earned by completing objectives and challenges, expand a hero’s toolkit. Hero-specific challenges during missions grant bonus Skill Points and unlock optional missions that reveal deeper stories and motivations behind each character.

Missions and exploration: The campaign unfolds across interconnected episodes in a living city. You’ll encounter both campaign and patrol missions, with branching paths that let you chase the core narrative or dive into side content. Side missions broaden your hero pool, deepen lore, and reward extra progression, ensuring every playthrough can feel fresh and personal.

Teamwork and strategy: Team-ups matter. Each hero earns a unique team-up ability from their allies, creating new ways to fuse powers and exploit different enemy types and supervillains. Positioning, synergy, and adaptive tactics are essential, because challenges come from a range of foes, not from chance—your choices shape outcomes against varied threats.
