Edge of Sanity

A psychological survival horror inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos, Edge of Sanity uses a hand-crafted 2D art style to deliver an uncanny, oppressive atmosphere. Set in the harsh wilderness of Alaska during the Cold War, the game threads together dread, mystery, and tight survival mechanics.

You are part of a resupply team helping scientists at a remote field lab. The site is empty and corrupted by horrors you barely escape. After the escape, your group splits and you establish a provisional camp. Your task is to uncover what happened, while staying alive long enough to push toward the truth.

Explore hostile caves, forgotten mines, and hidden laboratories in search of precious resources and clues about the enigmatic PRISM organization. Each discovery deepens the mystery and reveals the real story behind their experiments, forcing you to decide what you’re willing to risk to learn the truth.

Every day is a hard-fought battle for survival: limited food and supplies, and your sanity pushed to the edge. You must improvise, improvise again, and adapt to the threats that emerge as darkness closes in. The more you traverse Alaska, the more madness leaves permanent scars on your mind, shaping how you act, what you see, and the dialogue options at your disposal.

Madness affects every aspect of the game, introducing traumas that alter character behavior and reality itself. These changes also unlock new crafting possibilities, permitting you to forge items that could tilt the balance in your favor—or pull you deeper into the void.

Maintain your crew’s morale by managing a functioning camp: rest, plan expeditions, scout for distant survivors, and build stations to produce food, water, and other essentials. With people on edge, every choice matters and danger can come from within as easily as from outside.

Combat offers multiple approaches: learn your enemies’ weaknesses, impair their senses, exploit crafting and surroundings, or fight with your axe when options run dry—though violence can be deadly. Your strategy determines whether you outlast the night or become another relic of this cursed frontier.

Edge of Sanity blends dense storytelling with brutal atmosphere, exploring dark cults, horrific monsters, and unexplainable phenomena. It asks you to confront moral ambiguity in a world where the line between good and evil, sanity and ruin, is perilously thin.
