Created by EMD between 1949 and 1954, the E8 was crucial for Amtrak following its launch in 1971, providing reliable service with nearly 200 E-units in operation. These robust diesel engines boasted 2,250 horsepower and were capable of reaching speeds up to 117 mph.

This add-on features the EMD E8 in two classic Amtrak liveries: the distinctive red-nosed “Phase I” and the stylish striped “Phase II.” With cab (“A”) and booster (“B”) versions, players can enjoy both single- and dual-headlight configurations, alongside “as built” and rebuilt variants.

The add-on also includes Amtrak passenger cars from the 1970s and early 1980s, such as a baggage car, coaches, and a diner in Phase I livery. Enhance your simulation with career scenarios on the Miami - West Palm Beach route, alongside freight traffic with the Seaboard Coast Line GE U36B.
