Thistlemine
Thistlemine is a puzzle exploration RPG where you step into the Exclusion Zone as Noa, a low-ranking excavator. A living Miasma bleeds through time and space, distorting reality and mutating what little life remains. Rumors tell of a powerful artifact at the zone’s heart, drawing restless souls to their doom—none return. Noa must press onward, outmatched and under-equipped, driven by a stubborn hope to decipher the garden’s secrets and survive.
Inside the Exclusion Zone lies a massive garden labyrinth, the mutated remnants of those who attempted the journey, and the enigmatic guardian Anomalis who call the land home. Noa’s edge is a rare ability to repeat short windows of time. With patience, planning, and careful resource use, she can turn misfortune into advantage and uncover pathways others miss.
The zone contains seven major areas, each packed with disorienting puzzles, hidden routes, and combat encounters. Decisions about how you explore—what you fight, what you save, and when you push forward—shape variations in challenge, resources, and lore. Different routes can reveal additional details, tougher foes, or extra conveniences, so replays may feel distinct as you uncover the garden’s layers.
Across the path you’ll meet Excavation Corps members—some near death, some mutated—who can join your party or be left behind. Your choices affect survival, supplies, and the story’s tone. Allies bring new options in combat and exploration, but every alliance changes your odds in the Exclusion Zone’s brutal math.
Anomalis are Miasma lifeforms wearing plant-like shapes. In battle they spill Miasma, reducing the number of turns you have and escalating the pressure with overwhelming numbers. There are over 40 encounters, many with multiple phases and branching subroutes, demanding adaptive tactics and a willingness to experiment with timing and order.
Defeating enemies yields Artifacts that grant buffs, permanent stat bonuses, new skills, or active abilities. The toughest Anomalis reward unique artifacts that unlock new combat strategies, skill synergies, and complex attack chains. Mastering how to use artifacts in concert with time-manipulation and turn limits turns each fight into a puzzle you must solve.
Thistlemine offers three modes: Standard Mode—the core experience with checkpoints, dialogue choices, and forgiving consequences; you progress at your own pace. Regimental Mode is a time-attack variant that rewards efficient use of turns and time, with a two-hour limit, designed as a canonical yet optional path. The Temporal Rift is a built-in dev room for experimentation, and future updates will add challenges and cut content to broaden exploration.
