Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right
Root is an engaging digital adaptation of the acclaimed tabletop board game, where 2 to 4 players vie for control over a vibrant woodland landscape. The story centers around the cunning Marquise de Cat, who has claimed the forest, intent on exploiting its resources. In response, the forest creatures unite as the Woodland Alliance to undermine her oppressive rule.
The Woodland Alliance specializes in guerrilla tactics, gradually building support among the forest's inhabitants. As they place sympathy tokens across the map, they score victory points and can lead revolts to establish bases that empower their military strength.
Meanwhile, the ambitious Eyrie Dynasties, once rulers of the woods, strive to reassert dominance by capturing territory and constructing roosts. However, they rely on a strict Decree, and failing to follow it risks turmoil and collapse.
Last but not least, the enigmatic Vagabond wanders the forest, engaging with the warring factions while pursuing personal quests. By managing items and forging relationships, the Vagabond seeks to increase their renown and score points.
