Battle Brothers is a challenging turn-based tactical RPG that immerses you in a gritty, low-power medieval fantasy world. As the leader of a mercenary company, you have the freedom to explore a procedurally generated open world, determining your path as you decide where to go, whom to hire, which contracts to undertake, and how to equip and train your warriors.

The game features a dual-layer structure, combining a strategic world map with intense tactical combat. On the world map, you can undertake lucrative contracts, seek out valuable loot, and engage with a variety of towns where you can resupply and recruit new members. When conflict arises, you transition to the tactical map for intricate, turn-based battles where strategy is key.

Each of your Battle Brothers possesses unique backgrounds and traits, contributing to a dynamic character development system without restrictive classes. Experience gained through combat allows for leveling up and acquiring powerful perks. Moreover, the permadeath mechanic ensures that fallen warriors remain dead, adding a layer of consequence to your choices. With diverse enemies and a rich event system introducing critical decisions, the game offers an engaging experience, further enriched by an atmospheric orchestral soundtrack.
