The Barrens are a shattered wilderness poisoned by a mysterious nuclear disaster. The land is warped, the skies churn with toxic storms, and the dead wander as infected husks. Living dangers loom in the form of man-made mutants born from failed experiments and radiation scars, all roving this harsh world in search of any breath to snuff out. What remains is a lonely, unforgiving expanse where survival hinges on your choices and resolve.

Alliances & Enemies

Survivors faction into roaming powers, each with camps, vendors, and mission networks. How you conduct yourself—and who you align with—shapes trust, rivalries, and access to opportunities. Earn standing to open doors, or become the threat others warn about. With enough reputation or the right bribe, you can recruit companions to walk the Barrens beside you.

Threats Beyond Humanity

The infection twists more than bodies: undead roam in unpredictable patterns, from shambling husks to warped stalkers. Mutants created by failed experiments and radiation-laced biology prowl the wastes. Deep in the map, powerful boss creatures guard their territory, ready to challenge any who press too far.

Atmosphere & Environment

The Barrens feel alive even when the world is still. Green fog drifts through Hazard Zones, radioactive storms flare without warning, and wind carries echoes that make you question what lurks beyond. Each region carries its own mood and weather—from choking toxic rain to silent, frozen ridgelines—where nothing is warm and nothing is truly safe.

Build a Home to Survive

Survive with a fully modular base-building system. Create from a lone outpost to a fortified stronghold, all tied to a functional grid. Manage generators, fuel, and power so lights stay on and the dangers stay out. Every wall, wire, and panel is a choice that can shield you or mark you as a target in a world that never stops pressing in.

Scavenge, Craft, Endure

Supplies are scarce. Explore decaying towns, derelict sites, and forgotten bunkers for gear, medicine, weapons, and materials. Craft what you can’t find, upgrade your survivor, and improvise tools to last another day in the harsh Barrens.

Survival & Progression

Your skills grow through use, shaping a survivor you choose to become. An evolving RPG system unlocks new options and playstyles as you adapt to the world’s dangers and opportunities. Manage injuries, infections, and illnesses carefully—conditions can spiral if untreated, so every decision matters.

Ongoing Development & Multiplayer

Fargone is designed to grow over time with new regions, systems, factions, and features beyond Early Access. Multiplayer centers on coop as a core idea, but the launch focuses on a strong single-player experience. Initial multiplayer targets a 1–4 player range, with cooperative play planned after launch when AI and systems are ready.
