FUR Squadron
FUR Squadron is an arcade space shooter that follows a team of elite pilots during what begins as routine virtual reality training. As you pilot through a mind-bending journey of retrowave environments set to a blistering synthwave soundtrack, you blast through the simulations of the Skal Empire’s units and minions. The game preserves the classic 90’s on-rails shooter DNA while updating it with smoother controls and a sleek, modern visual style. It’s an action- and narrative-driven voyage through a virtual world where danger may lie behind every corridor.
Gameplay centers on fast, responsive on-rails action across six levels. Each level throws swarms of enemies and towering bosses at you, demanding quick reflexes, smart dodges, and precise shots. Three levels of difficulty let you pilot a variety of ships, from nimble scouts to heavily armed craft, testing your skill at every turn. As you progress, you unlock secrets and power-ups to boost your ship’s performance, turning each run into a personal ascent toward mastery.
Meet your squad
Blaze Mustela leads the FUR Squadron with courage and calm under pressure. Kiro Nax, once grounded by a wing-loss accident, has learned to fly with extraordinary talent and a bit of swagger. Axel Mex, a cheerful engineer and computer expert, was adopted by Blaze after being found as a tadpole and now keeps the squad functioning at peak efficiency. The fur-net system, a low-poly, retro-futuristic canvas developed by Axel, anchors the visuals as a stylish backdrop to the action. And... a mysterious figure hints at a new ally, adding a layer of intrigue to the mission.
The story unfolds inside a vivid virtual world where an unknown threat erupts and the Skal Empire may be behind it all. With an original synthesizer soundtrack that matches the retrowave aesthetics, FUR Squadron blends atmosphere with adrenaline as you chase answers and push your ship to maximum performance.
