One key twist is the continually refilling inventory. Dismantle items quickly to recycle materials, then fuse what you gather to unlock new capabilities. Use acquired abilities in combat, or swap in armor to tailor your tactics on the fly.

Between expeditions you can visit the underground tavern and meet multiple characters who drive the story forward. Five tavern residents each bring their own storyline and perks that upgrade your power and options for progression. Helping these characters not only advances their arcs but also strengthens your build choices.
