Crypt Custodian is a charming metroidvania inspired by classic Zelda adventures, where you take on the role of cleaning up the afterlife. You play as Pluto, a mischievous cat who has just died and wakes inside the grand palace of the afterlife. After a brief and disastrous encounter with the Afterlife Guardian, Kendra, you are banished and sentenced to clean forever. Your quest begins as you explore the grounds surrounding the palace, battling beasts with your trusty broom and collecting new abilities that push the map outward block by block.

The core loop blends exploration, combat, and puzzle solving. Solve environmental puzzles, reveal hidden paths, and uncover relics that expand the world you can reach. As you gain abilities, you unlock shortcuts and can backtrack to previous areas with new reach, which lets you weave your own route through a living, interconnected realm. Meet a colorful cast of bad ghosts who live outside the palace.
