Village & Monsters is an engaging card game that invites players to build and manage a human settlement while simultaneously controlling the spread of viruses. Your settlement faces periodic attacks from monsters, which can be mitigated through the strategic use of viruses. The ultimate objective is to grow your population to 100, at which point humans can defend themselves from the monsters without relying on the virus.

In this game, you utilize combinations of various cards, including materials, technologies, weapons, tools, events, and social buffs, to enhance your settlement. Players manage three distinct decks: accumulated cards, event cards, and permanent cards. The management of viruses follows a similar structure, emphasizing the balance between DNA and the number of viruses present.

Constructing buildings is pivotal, as they generate essential resources like food and materials. Each building is illustrated on the game map, providing detailed information about its functionality. Additionally, viral creatures can evolve, impacting DNA production rates, while the ability to infect humans grants substantial buffs but introduces disease-related challenges. Players must strategically navigate negative events that affect population and food supply, utilizing weapons and tools to counteract these setbacks.
