BastogneBreakout description

Bastogne Breakout

Set against the backdrop of December 1944, Bastogne Breakout is a captivating Hex, Counter, and Card game that immerses players in one of World War II's pivotal moments. With the German Fifth Panzer Army advancing into Belgium, their objective is to secure the Meuse River, located 100 kilometers to the west. Clearing the crucial road network around Bastogne and Wiltz is essential for their success.

As the battle unfolds over nine intense days from December 16th to 25th, players take control of regiments and battalions represented on a hex grid where each hex covers a mile (1.6 km). Engage in strategic gameplay with options for Hot Seat mode, allowing you to play against a friend, or challenge the Allied AI as the Germans. Choose your level of difficulty and utilize unique cards to influence the battlefield—blow bridges, utilize special operations, and manage weather conditions.

Three scenarios await you: the introductory Bastogne Breakout, where players learn the game; 2nd Panzer Goes West, requiring a strategic exit under tight deadlines; and a more complex repeat of the Bastogne Breakout scenario, where both the Second Panzer and Panzer Lehr divisions must navigate their way to victory.
