SGS Battle For: Madrid description

SGS Battle For: Madrid

SGS Battle for Madrid, the second installment of the SGS Battle Series, immerses players in the intense conflicts of the Spanish Civil War. This game presents a grand tactical scale where players command battalion, company, and even platoon-sized units across a sprawling battlefield surrounding Madrid. Each game turn reflects a short timeframe, spanning mere hours or days, enhancing the urgency of decision-making.

Players can engage in the conflict from both the Nationalist and Republican perspectives, either against another player through PBEM or in hot seat mode, or versus AI. The setting is marked by the critical moments from October 1936 to January 1937, a pivotal phase when the outcome could have significantly influenced the war's progression.

The game incorporates a unique unit activation system, allowing players strategic flexibility as not all units are activated each turn. Players will navigate various scenarios, including the grand campaign that examines the complete battle, and shorter missions focused on key locations like Jarama and the University. With a detailed historical backdrop, the game also integrates events and cards that reflect political dynamics, providing a rich, immersive experience in one of history’s most significant conflicts.
