Soul Sader is a challenging cross-scrolling RPG that immerses players in the role of a determined knight, aware of an impending catastrophe. Realizing that his own strength is insufficient to avert disaster, the knight seeks the power of other fallen knights. Players can utilize portals to reach these knights, but they must be prepared for fierce battles, as each knight possesses unique abilities and characteristics. Success in attacking enemies is crucial, as defeating them allows the player to equip their souls and harness new powers.

The game features a resurrection mechanic at the temple, enabling players to come back after defeat. Players must strategically manage their energy, which is replenished with each successful attack. With five formidable knights to overcome, each victory brings the knight closer to gaining the strength needed to confront the ultimate disaster knight. The controls are intuitive, with movement executed using the left and right keys, while evasion requires a combination of downward and directional keys. To equip and deploy the powers of fallen knights, players simply press Q once they have accrued sufficient energy.
