In Caustic Bloom, you step into the shoes of Ted, a rookie at the enigmatic underground laboratory known as Sarcophagus II. An ordinary day descends into chaos when a toxic gas infiltrates the lab, transforming its inhabitants into violent threats. Your only refuge is a biohazard quarantine chamber, but the safety it offers is tenuous as horrors lurk just outside.

This top-down Metroidvania combines non-linear exploration with engaging combat mechanics. You manage a singular resource—Jelly. Each projectile you fire represents a piece of yourself, impacting health and ammunition simultaneously. Defeated foes drop jelly blobs that allow you to grow stronger and larger, but using your jelly for attacks will diminish your size.

As you journey through the lab, you unlock various abilities, including unique color swap powers that significantly alter gameplay dynamics. Moreover, each playthrough offers a different experience due to random path generation, presenting new challenges and obstacles to overcome.
