Unpredictable Star takes players on an adventurous journey through a dynamic cosmic realm where star domains are in constant motion. Within this ever-shifting universe, players will discover planets connected by teleportation channels, allowing them to traverse between worlds. Players will face invasions from alien enemies, prompting the call of the Unpredictable Star. This phenomenon transports both the player and adversaries to uncharted planets, where they must establish a base and fight for survival. Resource collection and crafting are essential for creating consumables and weaponry, all while exploring and engaging in battles to defeat invaders and find a way back home.

With the ability to form multiple teams, players can simultaneously engage in battles, though only one team is directly controlled at a time. Players must adeptly defend their stronghold and organize their teams for exploration. Additionally, a café within the base serves as a gathering point for adventurers, integrating light resource management and production gameplay elements. Combat is fast-paced, featuring a mix of melee and ranged weaponry, mech suits, and turrets, all influenced by the balance of energy within this fascinating universe.
