Introducing the Est/SNCF 241A Mountain Locomotives DLC for Trainz 2022, featuring the iconic 4-8-2 locomotives designed by the Chemin de Fer de l’Est (Eastern Railway) of France. Engineered for the demanding terrains of steeply graded main lines, the prototype was unveiled in 1925, leading to production models entering service by 1931. These powerful locomotives utilized the de Glehn compound system, showcasing remarkable engineering of their time.

In addition to the original Est models, several were adapted for the Chemin de fer de l’Etat (State Railway) but were later consolidated into the Est network after nationalization in 1938. To enhance performance, the SNCF rebuilt these locomotives, classifying them as 241A. They remained a staple in the rail network until their retirement in the 1960s, with only two preserved today.
