Oedipus/Antigone Game Description

Immerse yourself in the world of Ancient Greek tragedy with Oedipus/Antigone, a unique visual novel adaptation of Sophocles' renowned Theban plays. This game encompasses three masterpieces: Oedipus the King, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone, which explore the intricate and tragic tale of Oedipus and his family. Notably, these plays were written over nearly four decades, emphasizing their enduring relevance.

In a distinct artistic choice, characters are depicted as damaged marble sculptures, reflecting how we perceive classical antiquity today. This design invites players to engage with the poignant themes of beauty found in brokenness, akin to the tragedies themselves. The game combines AI-generated imagery with meticulous manual adjustments, creating a rich visual experience.

The prose translation by Richard Jebb, paired with the original Ancient Greek text, is displayed side by side, enhancing the educational aspect of the game. Complementing the experience is a haunting soundtrack by FEBRVVM, available as a free DLC. Delve into the heart of these timeless stories while gaining appreciation for the cultural legacy of Ancient Greece.
