In the interactive visual novel Adulting, players explore the nuanced experience of adulthood through the lives of three diverse characters. This single-player, third-person side-scroller blends 2D and 3D art styles, reminiscent of comics and graphic novels, allowing players to navigate various apartments and gain insights into the characters' struggles. The game is structured around a linear storyline, with each character undergoing three acts, reflecting their unique challenges and insecurities.

With an estimated playtime of 20–30 minutes, players engage with rich storytelling along with light mini-games and point-and-click interactions that enhance the narrative experience. Players participate in 12 diverse mini-games throughout the journey while exploring themes of financial pressure, familial responsibilities, and loneliness.

The characters include Liv, a single university student grappling with financial struggles; Albert, a mid-40s florist managing fatherhood; and Finja, a lonely pensioner striving to maintain connections. Their experiences offer relatable insights into adulthood’s complexities.
