I Mother

I Mother is a unique, wordless game that immerses players in the prehistoric world, exploring the origins of written language and the remarkable journey of Homo Sapiens. Inspired by archaeological research, the game highlights our ancestral connections, revealing how roughly 4% of modern human DNA is derived from Neanderthals. Players communicate through symbols based on ancient pictograms, reflecting the research of Genevieve Von Petzinger.

To enhance immersion, I Mother eliminates modern technology and maps, challenging players to survive purely by mastering nature. Players must manage their basic physiological needs by hunting, gathering food, and sourcing drinkable water. Survival requires an engagement of senses and memory; players instinctively learn to seek out points of interest depicted only as directional cues.

Focused on natural survival, the game avoids unnecessary violence, allowing only for hunting small animals while avoiding larger, more dangerous creatures. With no keyboard support, I Mother is designed for controller play, with recommendations for Xbox (ONE, S) and PS (4, 5).
