Wars Across The World: Hannibal 218 description
Wars Across The World: Hannibal 218
Step into the shoes of ancient commanders with Hannibal 218 B.C., a strategic simulation of the Second Punic War, a monumental clash between the Roman Republic and Carthage from 218 to 201 B.C. This intense conflict allows two players to engage in a struggle for supremacy over the Mediterranean world, with one commanding the mighty Roman legions and the other leading the resourceful Carthaginian forces.
Over 51 turns, each representing 4 months, players must navigate complex military strategies and adapt to shifting political landscapes. The Carthaginian player aims to dismantle Rome's power, leveraging a diverse array of mercenaries and allies, alongside the tactical genius of Hannibal Barca. Meanwhile, the Roman player must fend off Hannibal’s fierce onslaught while planning a counteroffensive to reclaim lost territories or neutralize the Carthaginian general.
With event cards introducing unique diplomatic, military, economic, and political scenarios—such as the emergence of Scipio the African—the game ensures a rich mix of strategy and unpredictability. Engage in this captivating historical battle that typically lasts around 8 hours, with no clear favorite, making every encounter a true test of skill and strategy.
