Portal: System Failure description

Portal: System Failure

Portal: System Failure is an innovative community-made standalone modification for Portal 2, powered by the Source Engine and set in the captivating Portal universe. In this engaging story, you assume the role of test subject #3872, known as Bell, who awakens approximately 15 years after the events of Portal 2. With GLaDOS at full power, the facility is now overseen by various AI beings, including the testing core VX-87, or Vixie, who serves as your guide.

Your testing journey quickly becomes complicated when a rogue AI penetrates the testing track, intending to usurp control of the facility. It falls to you to uncover the identity of this hacker and thwart their plans before chaos ensues.

Portal: System Failure introduces exciting new gameplay mechanics, including:

  • The Phase Distinction Field: This unique purple field allows artificial materials to pass while blocking organic ones.
  • The Death Fizzler: An advanced fizzler that disintegrates objects and poses a lethal threat to players.

While still in early development, the community eagerly anticipates this remarkable return to Aperture Science’s intricate puzzles and dark humor.
