Swords, Arrows & Shields description

Swords, Arrows & Shields is an engaging 2D card game that intricately blends luck and strategy with a captivating tarot-themed design. Players compete across 10 rounds, striving to outscore their opponents by forming sets of Major Arcana cards that match in color for victory.

The gameplay consists of two main phases: the Minor Phase and the Major Phase. In the Minor Phase, players play a Minor Arcana card to generate costs for the Major Phase. There are three types of Minor Arcana: Swords, Arrows, and Shields, which interact through a rock-paper-scissors dynamic. Swords defeat Shields, Arrows defeat Swords, and Shields block Arrows. Additionally, the special card Swords, Arrows & Shields automatically provides a cost of 10 when played, reinforcing strategic depth.

During the Major Phase, players utilize the accumulated costs to play Major Arcana cards, aiming to create matching sets for points. Players must choose wisely between placing cards in the Knock Field, which contributes to scoring sets, or the Support Field, which activates advantageous effects but does not count towards their final score. Achieving mastery in the balance of strategy and luck is essential to triumph in Swords, Arrows & Shields.
