Mens Rea description

Mens Rea Game Description

Step into the intriguing world of Mens Rea, an open-dialogue game set in the mysterious town of Salem. Unravel a gripping murder mystery within the critical 48 hours leading up to a trial of a young woman charged with a heinous crime. Driven by your wit and intelligence, you will engage in Conversational Puzzles to earn social credit, unlocking more areas of the town as you navigate through complex interactions.

Your journey begins with a poignant letter from a dying mother, who claims her daughter was wrongfully accused after being given away as an infant for a better life. "Her baby is as innocent today as she was when handed away," the letter states. As you explore Salem, you will encounter a range of townsfolk—some deceitful, some unaware of the truth, and others caught in the web of secrets that shroud the town.

Gather and assemble evidence to present at the trial, using your findings to create compelling arguments or evoke emotion in the biased jury. Remember, in this town, every revealed truth may overshadow your own safety—venture wisely, for the streets of Salem are filled with both danger and hidden revelations.
